my mom just called and said my brother in law was found unconscious out in california.

he was on a business trip and was jogging which he does religiously every day.

the only id he had on him was his hotal key so they tracked him down.

hello friends... just found out that at the recent one day assembly they are now really discouraging people from getting married!!!!!

they will lose young ones like crazy if they start telling them that they cannot get married...what are these sexually frusterated young people to do??

you cannot masterbate, you cannot have sex outside of marriage (not that i would encourage it either, but...), now you cannot even get married?????

I wonder if this has something to do with a decrease in the amount of people sighing up for

Bethel Gilead and taking on positions in the full time ministry ?

Maybe in their new location there is more room for more Gilead students that needs filling.

More full time ministers always creates productivity and expansion.

What a great observation!! I bet you are right on the money!!!! It makes perfect sence...they cannot go to college and have a career or get married, oh..but they CAN PREACH!! What a sneaky way to get more people out there to try and raise the numbers!! All at the young peoples expense!!

You know its really sad..but by the same token...it will really rub ALOT of people the wrong way...ESPECIALLY the young people, and hopefully they will rebell against the system and WAKE UP!! If they don't, then what do they have to look forward to?? Afterall..when a young person hits 16,17..they are on the hunt for a marriage partner because that is "just what you do" in the organization!

After you graduate from High School..that is it!! You cannot look forward to college, and NOW...you cannot even look forward to finding your soul mate and starting a family!! So what do these poor kids have to look forward to?? NOTHING!!!

There are going to be alot of depressed, angry and confused young people!! I feel so bad for them!! Think about their options...if they leave, they face the same thing as you and I have faced...being ostrasized from everyone you know and love!! I hope they will find refuge in this site and realize it's nothing more then a money hungry, self serving CULT!

WOW..I guess I needed to vent..LOL!!

BTW, other threads have said that the anti-marriage message is being given really strong attention this year. I cannot see what possible good they think that this is going to do either.

I think it is a scare tactic...theey are losing people out the back door faster then they can get them in the front..I think they are saying this for people to say..."Wow...we MUST be closer then we realize if they are saying this!!"

I am SO THANKFUL to be out of that miserasble CULT!! Makes me so sad for the good people who have no clue...or the ones who are trapped inside for fear of losing everyone they hold dear...what a NIGHTMARE!!

Hello friends..

Just found out that at the recent one day assembly they are now REALLY discouraging people from getting married!!!!! Can you believe it????? They will lose young ones like crazy if they start telling them that they cannot get married...what are these sexually frusterated young people to do?? You cannot masterbate, you cannot have sex outside of marriage (not that I would encourage it either, but...), now you cannot even get married????? What the heck are they supposed to do??? As a parent to a almost 16 year old I feel so sorry for these kids!!!

They are still REALLY harpinmg on no education...saying, "We are SO........close to the end..."(What is new about that statement?? I was supposed to be a "new system" baby...now I am 43 years old!!) Then they used a elderly 70 year old man who said that when he was young he was discouraged from going to college because the end was SO CLOSE...they said..."if it was close then..IMAGINE how close it must be NOW?????"

Also..they are now saying NOT to record any of the talks from the assemblies!!! They went on and on about how if you want to listen to a talk from a convention you must go to the official JW website and download it from there!! They said that "Spiritual foodeeds to come from the PROPER PLACE!!"

I thought the food from the assemblies WAS food from the "proper place'???? OH BROTHER, what a stinkin JOKE!!!! Talk about damage control!!!! They are obviously having issues with ones recording and passing on comments in talks that are damaging to them..LOL!!! Gotta pull in the reigns somehow!!

Absolutley AMAZING!! I can only IMAGINE what kind of crap they are going to dish out at the District Assemblies this summer!! Anyone else been to the recent one dayer?? Did you glean any other new "spiritaul light??

Hi everyone..

I guess I am an "oldie". I just drop in from time to time to see what's going on...lots of newbies here..but I guess the truth be told, there are always are.

Let's see I have been just getting on with my life. Happier now then I ever have been, and have finally reached the "peace" I so desired when I was first discovering all the things about the organization. I am no longer obsessed with research, although I always like to learn new things. I know enough to have a good conscience and feel at peace with my Creator.

It's great to see all the newbies as well as the same old oldies...still helping everyone along..:)

i just wanted it to go away, and for things to be the way they used to be.

Actually, this is not the only thing I researched. I spent many, many, many more months researching every doctorine that was ever taught to me by the organization. Yes, you are right..there is so... much more!! However it was all I chose to include in my letter, as I wanted to stick with the very issue that was the foundation for all their other teachings. If ones realized that the 607 teaching had nothing to stand on, then it may get them to think about things and prick their conscience into checking things out.

GOOD for YOU!!!! That was awesome!! After reading your story I was thinking how great it would be if a huge group of "Apostaes" would all go in together, sit together, and partake...passing it on down the line!! There were about 19 of us that left around the same time here..now there is even more! How funny would it be to all go in and partake...they would have no wine or bread left!! LOL!! To see the look on their faces must have been priceless!! Although I must admit I don't have your guts!!

First Time that I Didn't Go to the Memorial - Now Depressed

so this was the very first time in my whole life that i didn't go to the memorial.

my wife went, and she was sullen before and after... i know she wanted me to go.

i told her afterwards that if she wants me to go next year i would, but she didn't say anything.

I know it feels weird the first time you miss a Memorial. I felt the same. Infact for the first couple of years we would have our own little Memorial at home. I would make some bread, and I would buy some Kosher wine, I would get fresh flowers and we would read the scriptures, say the prayers and pass the wine. That too felt weird. But at least we felt good about observing it. Now...i go to a local church from time to time and they observe it every Sunday. So we are still observing Christs death, just in a different place. Remember, it doesn't matter where, or how often, but that we do it.

Maybe you could read the passages...that along with a private prayer will probably make you feel tons better. I know that I felt a void when we left the organization. I knew what we were doing was right, but I was raised in the organization, and at 40 years old, my world turns upside down, and am no longer going. Fom going to 5 meetings a week to nothing is quite a shocker. I tell you though..when I finally decided to go to a "church", at the encouragement of my sister, I discovered, that it filled that void. To be again with others who have faith, love God, and are their because their hearts were moving them to be there to be encouraged was a old familiar feeling....however it was so much better, because I was not being judged, I wasn't expected to perform, or to meet their standards.

A couple of Sundays ago infact, I decided to make it my aim to attend once a week on Sundays. I feel so much better, am encouraged WAY more then I had ever been at the hall, and almost always have a tear in my eye at the end of the serman. I do not feel you have to have a religion to have God's favor, but some need the association and encouragement, and I am one of them I guess. I would say that if your not in a position to go to a church, then maybe watching a tv serman like Joel Olstein on Sunday may give you some encouragement...

Anyhow...hang in there...

) and it seems as we were talking the thought came up that many of us when exiting the mind control of jehovah's witnesses we really come to appreciate the freedom to think how we want and be able to have access to other views which helps us to have a broader scope , or broader world view than just the tunnel vision of the wt society.
